One of the best Sunday roast ever! Also we felt quite welcome by the staff although we are foreigners(my wife and I). Small carpark but nice canal views. Deserves 5 star rating on Google
Friends recommended the Boat, so it was our first visit. Lovely atmosphere, great menu, delicious food and efficient service.

Excellent food and the staff were very friendly. We went with a baby and they were very accommodating. Put us in a quiet corner so we wouldn't bother other customers. Roast was lovely. Plenty of parking a right on the canal so great for a walk.
Love it here. The food is great especially the platters. We had a small (hangry) child with us and they were really understanding and helpful (even bring food for him way before ours)

Cheap and cheerful. Good value pub food. Great value breakfasts. Good offers on drinks and a good selection of craft and real ales and gin Friendly helpful staff. Not posh and you will see people drinking cider at 10am but a decent pub all the same.
Great pub, a great place to go for a good value and good quality meal. I particularly like go to the Crown because of the selection of real ales on offer. Although I invariably end up drinking Abbot Ale, it's an 8.7 out of 10 for taste and at £2.49 a pint you can't go far wrong. You should check it out....!

Comfortable restaurant. I had a nice garlic prawn starter. Unfortunately I chose shepherds pie for a main course. This came out on the shallowest or dish with made. There was so little meat and not much more potato. It was molten and I burned my tongue. Staff did try to help and I was offered a side of chips which I enjoyed far more than the main. You can get a nicer shepherds pie as a supermarket ready meal. I'd recommend you avoid this dish.
Was here for a company Christmas meal so the menu was set prior to us turning up. We had a few vegans in our party including myself and the food was fantastic - Vegan Christmas options tend to lack a little bit but this was really impressive. Really nice to know Bills is taking vegan options seriously. Not major criticism's about this place, really nice fit out but when it's busy which it did end up getting it did get hard to hear others at the table as the sound seems to just bounce around the room.

No problem getting a table when we turned up, and reasonably prompt service too. Food always seems decent in this establishment, not necessarily the cheapest in town, but competitively priced. Works well for families too.
Great good and service... highly recommend.

We had a lovely evening here. Food and service were both excellent and there is a really good, cosy atmosphere. We sat upstairs which is our preferred area. It was a Saturday night and very busy but staff were calm and very efficient. Highly recommend.
Good food, good price with friendly helpful staff. Well done!

I do like the manic nature of this take-away, the rattle of the woks. Food is good and value for money.
Best chinese in town! Food is good quality and have never had any issues even after 7+ years of takeaways. Very reasonably priced and with so much choice its always delicious!

Having lived in Berko for years now I can say that the Verandah is the most consistently good Indian restaurant in town. Great food and service. Highly recommend.
Friendly and helpful service. Food was fantastic, incredible flavours. Highly recommended.

Consistently decent curry at a reasonable price. The service is great, staff are friendly and the quality of the food had taken a step up over the last few months compared to a year ago.
Always a great meal here. Won't go anywhere else now. Have taken several friends who were all very impressed and going again. Staff so so friendly, food just amazing xx

Good Italian restaurant with a variety of classic and modern dishes. The ravioli was delicious. The Eaton mess with a twist was so good! The waitress was very helpful and friendly. Good place to go for a catch up with friends.
All three of us enjoyed our meal this lunchtime. Our waitress was great.

Fab place for a nice coffee and natter with a friend. The breakfasts being served to other customers looked really nice. I will definitely try one for myself next time I visit.
Friendly staff and nice food, look out for offers

We had the most wonderful evening for a friends special birthday last night. Thanks to Salvatore, Francesco and the rest of the staff for making it so easy to organise, for their attention to detail and for the very friendly and great service. Also to Rosanna for the amazing food and fantastic birthday cake. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone for anything from coffee and cake to a full meal, or special occasion. Thanks again. Karen 😊
Just ate the best salad/meal I've had in ages - the Peach and Parma Ham...omg... 😍 This place is great - lovely service and an extensive menu. I'll be back for that salad over and over and over again....

A very nice place to go.Food is of a high standard. The staff are very helpful and supportive. We took our 29 year old autistic son for his birthday last Wednesday. He presented with difficulties whilst there. The staff were absolutely supportive, understanding and very helpful. That same evening I was called from a lovely lady called Anna who owns the restaurant with her husband to find out if we were ok and to reassure us that they would love to see our son again and that what happened not to deter us from bringing him back again. Thank you to Anna and her staff for being so kind and thoughtful it really touched us.💙💙💙
Great food, brilliant service. Would return and recommend!

Didn't know what expect when visiting the giggling squid but happy to say we had a great meal. The setting of the restaurant is nice and is definitely different from your usual Thai. At lunch they do a Thai tapas, but we came for an early dinner and the food we had was delicious. The starters were very tasty. The squid was coated it a very light batter, the dumplings were very spicy but could have had more and the chicken satay were just not dry. The mains were just as good! The prawns on the pad Thai were big and chunky and the beef was tender and juicy. Definitely will be going back and would recommend. Probably the best Thai in the area.
Second visit, took a friend with us. Extremely good service and great food. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, will go again soon.

Wonderful, friendly and thoughtful staff. Food is good but not 5 star. Atmosphere lovely and decor great.
We were a party of older ladies, we all enjoyed the pies especially me as I am vegetarian and I am served the most awful food at some venues. It was a bit cold but it was lunchtime and the staff were very friendly and moved us nearer the heater. It was a pity about the noise levels' in such a new building I would have thought that would have been taken into consideration when designing it. But we all really enjoyed ourselves .

Possibly my favourite pub in the entire world. Just love this place - friendly, no airs and graces, a proper drinking establishment. And superb beers.
Excellent selection of craft keg beers and local cask beers plus an unrivalled array of ciders to keep the most determined juiceheads content. Nearly always something going on, be it cheese night, quiz night or open mike might. Fabulous local pub for local people.

The tempura soft shell crab was great and the mains we choose were equally nice. Its a nice place to have a good sunday lunch.
I'm quite a fussy customer, but this is without question, the best restaurant in Berkhamsted. The food is excellent, reasonably priced and a consistently high standard. The staff are never less than cheerful and welcoming and I count myself extremely lucky to have this on my doorstep. I go there often before enjoying the sublime Rex cinema next door - 30s restored Art Deco just like The Gatsby. Great pre-film meal deal too - just a lovely treat all round.
